Privacy policy
This policy covers Work Calendar, Shift Calendar (com.x4dreamstudio.workcalendar), an Android app by 4dreamStudio. It explains what the app keeps, what it sends and to whom, and how you can remove it.
- Your calendars, notes, people and settings stay on your phone. 4dreamStudio has no server and never receives them.
- Sharing a group is optional. Then the app stores the group in a file in your own Google Drive and can open only the files it created or the ones you pick.
- The app uses Google services for crash reports, usage statistics, optional ads and purchases.
- We don't sell your data and don't use your Google data for ads.
Data on your phone
Calendars, shift rotations, day marks, notes, leave, the names of people and groups you add, and your settings are saved in the app's private storage on your device. They are not uploaded anywhere unless you use one of the features below. Public holiday lists are built into the app, so looking them up sends nothing.
A backup is a file the app writes only when you ask, to a place you choose. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it saved on the device.
Google account and Google Drive
Signing in with Google is needed only to share a group with other people or to open a group someone shared with you. If you never use group sharing, the app never asks for your Google account.
When you do, the app asks Google for these permissions:
- See, edit, create and delete only the specific Google Drive files you use with this app (
drive.file). The app cannot see any other file in your Drive. - Your email address, asked only when you request access to a group shared personally with you, so the group's author can let your account in.
What the app does with this access:
- Author of a group: the app creates one file in your Drive with the group's name, the names of its people, their calendars and your shift times. Notes are never written to it. The app updates the file after you change the group and shares it the way you choose: with anyone who has the link, or with the Google accounts you let in.
- Reader of a group: the app reads the file you open from an invite and refreshes it in the background every few hours. A change you ask the author for is posted as a comment on that file, which the author's app reads and answers.
- Your email address goes only into the access request you send to the author, and from there to Google Drive's sharing settings for that file.
All of this goes directly between your phone and Google. 4dreamStudio does not receive, store or see your Google data, and it is not used for advertising, sold, or shared with anyone else.
Work Calendar's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
To stop sharing, leave or delete the group in the app or delete the file in Google Drive. To withdraw the app's access to your Google account, remove Work Calendar at myaccount.google.com/connections.
Phone calendar
If you turn it on, the app adds your shifts for the next 90 days as all-day events to a calendar on your phone that you choose. It reads that calendar only to find and update its own events. Notes are never copied there. This needs the Android calendar permission, which you can withdraw in the system settings at any time.
Notifications and widgets
Shift reminders and home screen widgets are worked out on the phone. Nothing is sent to show them.
Crash reports and usage statistics
The app uses Google's Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics. When the app crashes, Crashlytics sends a crash report: the error, device model, Android version and app version. Analytics collects which screens and features are used, an app instance ID, device and app details, and an approximate location from the IP address. We use this only to fix errors and see which features people need. It contains no calendar contents, notes or names. See Firebase's privacy information.
Ads
The free version may show ads, such as an optional rewarded ad that unlocks premium features for a day. Ads come from Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising ID, IP address and app usage to show and measure ads. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland the app first asks for your consent with Google's consent form, and you can change your choice later in Settings. Ads are never shown to people who bought premium. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Google Play. The app learns only whether you own premium. Your payment details stay with Google.
Install referrer
If you install the app from a group invite, Google Play passes the invite to the app on first start, so the group opens without following the link again. The app reads this through the Google Play Install Referrer service.
Children
The app is a work and study calendar and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and deletion
- Delete calendars and groups in the app, or uninstall it to remove all data from the phone.
- Delete a group file in Google Drive and withdraw the app's access to your Google account as described above.
- To ask about or delete crash and usage data linked to your app instance, write to us.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
